Players Who Had Two or More Spells At Everton

38 players have so far played for Everton in more than one spell, from the first, Bob Kelso
in the 19th century, to the most recent - Idrissa Gueye.

Only one player - Steven Pienaar - has managed more than 2 spells at the club. His 3 separate periods
with Everton came after he moved to the club from Dortmund, was later transferred to Tottenham,
rejoined on loan from Spurs - and then signed another permanent deal with us 2 months after that loan ended!
Complicated, eh?

The record for the longest gap between Everton appearances, by the way, is held by Wayne Rooney.
There were 13 years & 73 days between the last game of his first spell in August 2002
and the first match of his second spell in July 2017!

Second, third and fourth on that list are
Joe Donnachie (10 years & 357 days),
Dav
id Johnson (9 years & 304 days) and Howard Kendall (7 years & 288 days).

Details of all of our 'boomerang' players are set out below, with notes to explain what happened! Enjoy!

(Everton career details include starts + substitute appearances in all competitions)
