In The Derby

The Merseyside Derby has traditionally been a cagey affair and has
seen more than it's fair share of 0-0 bore-draws. Every now and then, though, one of the rivals shakes off the shackles and batters the opposition into submission, often allowing one stand-out hero to bag 3 or more goals for himself into the bargain. Having said all that, it hasn't happened very often - just 10 hat-tricks in League meetings plus one in the old Screen Sport Super Cup. Moreover, there've only been 3 since World War II and it's more than 80 years since Dixie notched Everton's most recent 3 goal haul. The full list of hat-trick heroes is below.
