The normal Football League and FA Cup had been suspended when World War II broke out.
In 1945/46 the FA Cup resumed, with ties played on a home-and-away basis from the 1st Round proper
up to and including the Quarter-Finals.
The Football League was replaced with regional leagues - and in 1945/46 the pre-war 1st and 2nd Division
clubs were combined and split into North and South Divisions.
Everton played in the North Division, with 22 teams competing and playing each other home and away.
The FA Cup match, appearance and goal statistics are counted in official records.
The War Football League match, appearance and goal statistics are not counted in any official records.
